朝香宮邸の書斎に置かれた机、椅子、絨毯。邸宅の内装設計に関わったアンリ・ラパンによるデザインで、同じく書斎にあった電話台と共に揃いで制作されたと考えられる。アール・デコ様式の机は、半円形の天板ガラスの両側に方形の扉付抽斗が張り出した幾何学的な形態をもち、ウォルナットの木目を活かしてデザインされている。本体下部に車輪、台座にレールが取り付けられ回転出来る構造となっている。抽斗には桜系の木材が使われており、底板はガラスである。机面には、殿下居間の壁紙と同じ柄の布を敷き、その上に厚みのあるガラス板を載せている。絨毯にはラパンのイニシャル「HR」を用いたモノグラムが施されている。

The desk, armchair, and carpet placed in the Study of the Prince Asaka Residence. Designed by Henri Rapin, who was involved in the interior design of the residence, these items are believed to have been created as a set along with the telephone stand that was also located in the Study. The Art Deco-style desk has a geometric form with square drawers attached to the sides of the semicircular glass tabletop, designed to highlight the walnut wood grain. The desk can be rotated thanks to wheels on the base of the main body and rails on the pedestal. Cherry-like wood is used for the drawers, which feature glass bottoms. A cloth with the same pattern as the wallpaper in the Prince’s Sitting Room is spread over the surface of the desk, underneath a thick plate of glass. The rug is adorned with a monogram using Rapin’s initials, “HR.”
