朝香宮邸の書斎に設置されていた電話台。邸宅の内装設計に関わった装飾美術家アンリ・ラパンによるデザインで、同じく書斎に置かれた机、椅子、絨毯と共に揃いで制作されたと考えられる。木材にはウォルナット（クルミ材）が用いられ、面ごとにシンメトリーな木目が確認できる。上部の電話置き部分には電灯が仕込まれており、暗い時でも手元が明るいように工夫がなされていた。
A telephone stand that was installed in the Study of the Prince Asaka Residence and designed by decorative artist Henri Rapin, who was involved in the interior design of the residence. It is believed to have been created as part of a set along with the desk, chair, and rug used in the Study. The piece uses walnut wood, and symmetrical wood grain can be observed on each side. A light was embedded in the upper portion that held the telephone in order to illuminate the user’s hands.
