1925年にパリで開催された現代装飾美術・産業美術国際博覧会（通称アール・デコ博覧会）では、異なる4人のデザイナーや芸術家による4種のポスターデザインが制作された。ポスターを手がけた4人のうち、最も知名度が高く、芸術家としてのキャリアが長かったのが、本作をデザインしたアントワーヌ・ブールデルだ。彫刻家である彼がアール・デコ博覧会のために描いたのは、弓と矢をもつ羽の生えた人物と雄牛である。画中には“Par Labeur & Par Genie”（勤労と叡智によって）という文字が記されている。ブールデルは、神話主題やモニュメンタルな彫刻作品を数多く制作したが、本作においても茶色とオレンジを基調とした色彩によって神話的な世界を表している。

Four different artists or designers created poster designs for the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts (commonly known as the Art Deco Exposition) held in Paris in 1925. Of the four poster designers, Antoine Bourdelle was the most well-known with the longest artistic career. Primarily a sculptor, Bourdelle’s poster design for the Art Deco Exposition features a winged figure holding a bow atop an ox. The phrase “Par Labeur & Par Genie” (By Labor & By Genius) is inscribed within the image. Bourdelle created many works with mythological themes and monumental sculptures, and in this work, he uses a color palette of brown and orange to express a mythological world.
