雑誌『アール・エ・デコラシオン』は、1897年の創刊以来現在まで続くフランスの老舗美術雑誌。1919年から1938年にかけて「モダンアートの月刊誌」を掲げ、『L'Architecture（建築）』誌や『Le Décor d’Aujourd’hui（今日の装飾）』誌などの美術雑誌を吸収しながら発展した。批評家、キュレーターらによる刺激的な記事のほか、書籍や展覧会の紹介欄も設けられ、当時の装飾芸術全般の動向が広く網羅される。本書は、1923-29年に刊行された雑誌記事を一年ごとにまとめた合本である。

The magazine Art and Decoration is a long-standing French art journal that has continued since its founding in 1897. From 1919 to 1938, it positioned itself as a monthly magazine of modern art, growing by absorbing other artistic journals like L'Architecture and Le Décor d’Aujourd’hui.
