Collection
Overview
The Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum is engaged in creating and maintaining a collection of artworks and materials pertaining to Art Deco and the residence of Prince Asaka.
The museum’s collection is made up of furniture and furnishings and works of art inherited from Prince Asaka Family. In addition, the museum has been actively collecting artworks and materials relating to the artists involved in the interior decoration of the residence of Prince Asaka and the International Exposition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts (commonly known as the Art Deco Exposition) held in Paris in 1925. Focusing on the 1910s to 1930s, when the Art Deco style flourished, we have recently broadened our perspective to include contemporary artworks by artists featured in our exhibitions, creating a diverse collection.
These pages introduce the collection of the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum.
Tokyo Museum Collection (ToMuCo) is a cross-searchable database of artworks and materials in the collections of six metropolitan museums in Tokyo, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum.
