朝香宮家の身の回りのお世話をする「奥」と呼ばれる職員たちが、昭和2年からの約8年間の宮家の動向を記述した15冊の記録。「誰が何時に家を出て、何時に帰宅したのか」という朝香宮家のスケジュールと、来客から受け取った品々の一覧が記されている。あくまで「奥」の視点で記録されているため、宮家の人々の言葉等は書かれていないものの、同家の生活の一端が垣間見える貴重な資料といえる。

A 15-volume record kept by the chamberlain in charge of the personal affairs of the Prince Asaka family that documents the movements of the Asaka household over approximately eight years beginning in 1927. It records the schedule of Asaka family members—who left home at what time and returned at what time—along with lists of gifts received from visitors. It records events from the chamberlain’s perspective and not in the words of the family members themselves, but nonetheless offer a valuable glimpse into daily life in the Asaka household.
