Guided Tour in English

There will be a guided tour in English to introduce the highlights of the Prince Asaka Residence, a beautiful Art Deco residence and the main building of the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum. Alice Gordenker, arts writer for The Japan Times will conduct the tour, which is free with regular museum admission and will last approximately an hour. No reservations are necessary; please gather in the great hall on the first floor of the Prince Asaka Residence five minutes before the tour begins.

Guide: Alice Gordenker
Alice Gordenker is a Tokyo-based writer and translator who specializes in Japanese art and culture, working regularly for museums, artists and NHK’s international programming. She is also a columnist for The Japan Times and a regular contributor to the art-information website Artscape Japan. Ms. Gordenker studied Japanese and Japanese art at Princeton University, and has lived in Japan for over 17 years.
