Descriptions

A photographic portrait of Prince Yasuhiko and Princess Nobuko. The Former Prince Asaka Residence (now the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum) took inspiration from the couple’s roughly three-year stay in Paris and their visit to the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts (commonly known as the Art Deco Exposition) held there in 1925. This photograph is believed to have been taken in Paris during their stay, with their posture and expression suggesting a natural relaxation.

Tokyo Museum Collection (ToMuCo) is a cross-searchable database of materials and artworks in the collections of six Tokyo metropolitan museums.
