Descriptions

A portrait of Princess Nobuko, seated on a couch and dressed in sophisticated Parisian fashion of the time. She wears a relaxed blue day dress with a geometric pattern and a pearl necklace, with her hair, styled in the appearance of a bob cut, visible from beneath a cloche hat. The portrait was created from a photograph taken at the Manuel Frères Photo Studio in 1923, during the couple’s stay in France. A photo with the same composition was also featured in the magazine Kōshitsu Gahō (Imperial Household Graphic Report, February 1924 issue).
