Descriptions

A table lamp created by René Lalique for the luxury liner SS Normandie. When it entered service in May 1935, the Normandie was the fastest and largest passenger ship in the world, with interiors so lavish they were praised as a “floating Versailles.” Lalique created chandeliers, 4-meter-high torch lamps, and 3-meter-high wall lights for the first-class dining room. This model of lamp was used in that dining room and the smoking room.
