Together at the Museum: A Guide to Accessibility

The Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum is dedicated to improving accessibility, striving to ensure that everyone can visit and enjoy the museum, regardless of age, disability, language, or cultural background. This exhibition details our specific efforts and introduces the various resources available to our visitors.
In addition to panels showcasing museum activities, the exhibition features tactile tools you can touch, such as a guide map, picture books, and models. Videos introducing the museum in Japanese Sign Language (JSL) and our programs are available for viewing, all of which include subtitles.
Furthermore, all explanatory texts for this exhibition are written in “Plain Japanese”, a simplified format designed to be easily accessible to foreign residents and those learning Japanese.
“Plain English” texts are also available.
We also offer resources such as large-print and Braille booklets and the audio code “Uni-Voice” (available in Japanese only), providing diverse ways for visitors to appreciate the exhibits.
We sincerely hope this display raises awareness of our commitment to accessibility and inspires a new experience for you at the museum.
