For visitors
in wheelchairs
-Wheelchairs may be used in the museum. Please request assistance from our staff.
-There is one restroom designed for the handicapped inside the museum and another beside the Café Sasha coffee shop. To use the handicapped restroom inside the museum, please speak to a staff member.
-Handicapped individuals planning to visit the museum are invited to notify the museum in advance of dates and times. We will be glad to arrange parking space, entrance ramps, and other facilities to ensure a pleasant visit.
Because this museum was formerly the residence of Prince Asaka and is a designated national cultural property, the rules regarding its preservation forbid the installation of elevators; it is not a barrier-free facility. Wheelchair users may experience special difficulties if they wish to view the exhibits on the second floor.
To visitors accompanied by small children -A baby chair and a changing table are available in the restroom beside Café Sasha.
-Please speak to a staff member if you need to change a diaper or breast feed inside the museum.
-Concerning baby strollers: To preserve the art works on display as well as this historic building itself, use of baby strollers inside the museum is strictly forbidden. Since strollers must be left at the entrance to the museum, use of slings or other ways to carry your baby is recommended. Baby strollers may be used while visiting the garden.
